Where we (sigh) leave Halloween behind, but we still manage to talk about some scary movies and our own personal Halloweens!!! Jason talks "Event Horizon", Evan talks "They Look Like People"... the non-monkey version... then we get back into the movie, "Rings".

In honor of the NEW Dr. Strange we watch the trailer for the OG Dr. Strange, which leads us to hearing Tom Brokaw give us the lowdown on some old school flicks in only the way he can.THEN we close out with a round of:

Happy Halloween Month!
Week 5

Where we start by reminding everyone about our "Impersonate The Bearded Ones" contest. And every entry will get a "Loot Envelope"!
Evan gives Jason the best Halloween costume.
Jason brings an old audio clip from last Halloween, which at first sounds like kids yelling at a clown, but ends up sounding very different. "Listen to FUTURE CLOWN, I'm trying to help you! AHH!!!"

ep_194_pic_bar.jpg

Jason and Evan were brought down a peg or 2 because they talk about their experience being featured in the latest Cracked article, "11 Quirky Photos of Improv Groups (That Will Make You Furious.)"
Jason brings another quiz where he asks Evan:
"How Well Do YOU Know the "Rings" Trailer?"
We talk about "Zombeavers" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" and how Leatherface was quite the ladies man. We find a list of the WORST Halloween costumes. (Bert & Ernie never looked so terrifying)

And we close out with a video of a woman petting her Raven, but when you close your eyes, it sounds completely different!

Happy Halloween Month!
Week 4

Where Jason and Evan decided to give Marmite a fair shake and eat it the CORRECT way. Results are…mixed. Then gooey Marmite reminds Evan of the 1988 horror movie remake, “The Blob” which leads to, “What if Marmite was a horror movie?”

Marmite_Photo-resize_1.jpg

Then Evan talks about the British Horror show, “Dead Set”which is basically “Big Brother” + Zombies. We then discuss which American reality shows we would want to see mixed with the UNDEAD. Jason realizes he knows absolutely nothing about zombies. And we explore the benefits of having the zombie-inspired ability to control your severed appendages. And how they can…get you stuff.

Jason and Evan revisit last week’s topic of “Drunk Dialogue”and examine the results of their experiment.

Evan recounts his real paranormal experiences while rehearsing an Honest-to-God horror play. And then we realize that there’s nothing scarier than the jokes of a child. And something even MORE scary is that nice old man you would NEVER suspect. But you can’t blame him because you DID defile his state park!

And we close with another HALLOWEEN QUIZ! Evan blends impressions and famous horror movie quotes and Jason has to guess them, which leads to the most TERRIFYING game show called:

“Doc Brown Goes Back In Time to F***Your Mother, and It’s Up To You To Stop Him!”

Happy Halloween Month!
Week 2

Where we start with "pride"... by that we mean, "begging for your submissions to the Evan and Jason impression contest".... we know you're out there. THEN we get into tree-babies...skeery...amateur stuntmen and their amateur ends... and how you can end a party very effectively, as long as you have no sense of what's appropriate.

Evan talks about "The X-Files" and how critics can get lost in their own semi-cleverness, and Jason asks the question, "Why didn't Chucky pull a "Red Paperclip" scenario in 'Child's Play'?"

We play a game where Jason challenges Evan to identify if these quotes are the last words of dying patients, death row convicts or "Scooby Doo" characters.
AND
Jason, once again, reads from his douchey Livejournal. This time only posts from October's past. Just a scant.... well... ten years ago. And we see how much he has matured in a decade.. because at some point, he finally learned how to drop the S-bomb.

P.S.-Kids, if you listen, Jason will give you a stern, but not cussy stern, talking to.

Happy Halloween Month!
Week 1

Where we start with "What if Robin Williams died while filming 'Mrs. Doubtfire'?" Then we give the perfect Halloween gift.
Evan asks, "Why does the Grim Reaper have that scythe?"
Then Jason shows a video of the creepiest/most delicious funeral...DEAD BODY CAKE??
Evan tells a story about how an old woman thought that her racist tract would help with his dead battery. Very Christian of her.
Racist_Tract.jpg
Then Evan realized that Kevin Bacon was in many horror movies so he brings a new game called "Bacon'ing" Where we meld together two Kevin Bacon movies (one horror/one not) and create BRAND NEW movies. "Animal Tremors" sounds pretty amazing.

Jason challenges Evan's Horror acumen with another "Horror Movie Quiz" this one based only on Sound Effects.
And finally we discuss those scenes from kids movies that are ACTUALLY scary. "Wizard of Oz", "Willy Wonka", "Gremlins", "Toy Story", etc.

Watch DEAD BODY CAKE clip HERE!
P.S. - Kids, if you listen, Ghost Mrs. Doubtfire will try to reconnect with you!

THEN we go over our Halloweens, which leads to discoveries of new, practical cenobites. Evan also talks about watching "Funny Games" and "Z Nation" for the holidays. We then get to some stuff we missed whilst celebrating the terror, including Back to the Future Day! Which leads to the question, "What other future movies are coming due?" This week we are thrilled to interview paranormal investigators, Cat and Mariel, from Ghost PRO. An organization based in Upstate South Carolina. We talk about the thing's that they saw and heard while growing up and how, through research and study, they were able to better understand what those things were.

Cat and Mariel were also kind enough to share some of the experiences they've had on different cases. And of all the things you assume a ghost would say, I wasn't expecting what they told me.
I also ask them about the "Ghost Reality Show" trend and are any of them doing it right, if so which ones?

Welcome to WEEK 4 of our epic October celebration! We sit down and interview special guest Comedian/Nerd Quiz Contestant/Rocky Horror shadow-caster and Lego enthusiast Craig Holcombe!

We discusses his unique style of stand-up, his time at the DashCon fiasco, and his unhealthy (we mean passionate) obsession with Lego's.

Then we debate that universal burning question, "Zombies: Sex-yay or Nay?" After that Jason and Evan treat the perennial contestant of "Nerd Quiz Live" with a two-part HORROR QUIZ of our own!
Part 1 "Finish The Quote"
Part 2 "Celebrities Who Started in Horror!"

And we close with another bracket challenge, this time we ask the question, "Which Evil Clown from pop culture would make the best Patch Adams?"
